Stumpy was initially brought to the Clinic by an individual who believed, due to his strange appearance, that he was the result of an alien/human mating.  After much investigation, which turned up the picture on the left, it was discovered that he had somehow gotten his head stuck in a stocking as a child and after 25 years had still not been able to get it out again.  The Clinic,  in a delicate surgical operation, was able to finally remove it revealing the cured patient shown on the right.
